- About Us -

The Coach and Horses is a true pub with a contemporary twist, located in the city centre, close to Norwich Theatre Royal, Chapelfield Gardens and Norwich Market.  With its vibrant atmosphere and endless charm and character, it's a perfect place to relax after a hard day, meet for a meal with friends, or just pop in for a quick drink pre or post theatre.

On the menu you will find a great selection of world tapas, sharer plates and the occasional sandwich, as well as a great range of real ales, lagers, wines and spirits.

Your safety during these times is of utmost importance, so all tables are socially distanced, the staff are trained in Covid protocols, and we clean even more than usual!

Landlords Anthony Munro and Amy King took on the Coach and horses in August 2016, and have taken it from strength to strength, turning it into the go-to location for theatre-goers, local businesses and ale aficionados.

The pub first began in 1712, and as its name suggests, was well placed to provide rest, relaxation and refreshment to those travelling around the East Anglia area.

Over the next three centuries, the pub has gone through some interesting remodelling!

But its philosophy has changed little, for it still offers a warm and cosy atmosphere, a shelter from the sometimes harsh outside world. It is a village pub, it just so happens to be in the middle of the city.

“A pub that makes me proud of my home city”
